The return of the final hostage in January marked a painful but pivotal moment—the beginning of Israeli society’s long healing process after two devastating years of war. With the current government elected in October 2022 and the law requiring national elections no later than October of this year, Israel has already plunged headfirst into full-blown campaign mode. In this timely and dynamic session, we’ll unpack Israel’s rapidly shifting political landscape: the major parties, key personalities, and the core issues that will shape voter choices. Together, we’ll map out competing visions for Israel’s future, explore possible coalition scenarios, and trace the paths that could lead to the next Israeli government—and the direction it may chart in the years to come.

Avi Ben-Hur has lectured, taught and facilitated workshops in Pittsburgh, Israel, Greece, Poland, Spain, Germany, Austria, Italy, and the Czech Republic. Currently he is the in-house Scholar-in-Residence for Classrooms Without Borders, a Pittsburgh-based organization that trains teachers to fight antisemitism, racism, and xenophobia.
