Intro to Judaism - Unit 2 begins November 17, 2024 - Registration Open
The Greater Pittsburgh Jewish Clergy Association (GPJCA) proudly presents Introduction to Judaism.
Intro to Judaism (ITJ for short) is a 26-week course, split into 3 units, that explores the literature, history, traditions, and spiritual foundations of the Jewish religion. The course welcomes anyone interested in growing in their knowledge of the Jewish faith who would like a nuanced, egalitarian, and beginner-intermediate course on Judaism. Teachers are drawn from Pittsburgh-area rabbis and cantors. Classes take place on Sunday afternoons from 2 to 4 pm ET, and are offered in hybrid format - both online and in-person.
Unit 2 begins November 17, 2024. If you are interested in joining the class, you can register now. A student that misses the beginning of a unit can join at the start of the next unit, and can complete the full course by taking the units in order; i.e. a person who signs up in advance of unit 2 will take unit 2, then proceed to unit 3 and conclude the class by taking unit 1. We will take a brief break over the summer, at which time we will offer a learn-to-read-Hebrew class (optional, additional fee required).
Cost is $360 per person/$400 per couple for all three units. Tuition fee covers 26 sessions and the text book On One Foot. For those that have financial need, aid is available.
To sign up, complete the registration form below.
