Beth Shalom has created a lending library of medical devices - known in Hebrew as a Gemah - an acronym of Gemilut Hasadim or 'act of lovingkindness'.

We provide medical devices on loan for folks in need.

If you have an item you'd like to donate, or need an item you'd like to borrow, please contact us. Items we keep in stock include:

- walkers, rollators, and knee scooters

- transport and full wheelchairs (but not motorized wheelchairs)

- four-pronged canes and crutches.

To donate or borrow an item, contact mgoodman@bethshalompgh.org

If you have a large number of items to donate, or need an item delivered, and live in or around Pittsburgh, we can most accomodate your request.

Please do not drop your items off at Beth Shalom as the synagogue is not equipped to accept donations. Instead email to arrange pickup.

We are currently accepting only the above devices. The device should be undamaged and in good working order. We are not looking for crutches.

For questions, email mgoodman@bethshalompgh.org.

You may also call the office at Beth Shalom: 412- 421-2288, and leave a message with the receptionist.

Please include your namephone number, and the device you'd like to donate or would like to borrow.
