Join Rabbi Adelson on the second Tuesday of each month for Lunch and Learn. This year’s subject will be “Secrets of the Psalms: History, Meaning, and Music”.

The Psalms are the proto-liturgy of the ancient Israelites and appear throughout our ritual today. Some we know well and repeat often; others we rarely encounter. The text is often complicated, frequently mysterious, and occasionally seductive, laced with love and yearning, grief and vengeance, and these ancient poems have been set to some of the most wonderful music ever composed. We will explore a range of Psalms over the course of these five sessions, and listen to some fabulous musical settings as well.
