Theme Minyan: Then and Now – Thursday, March 12, 2026

Did you, a child, parent, grandparent, or other family member attend Allderdice?
Is Allderdice in your or your child’s future?
Have you worked or taught there?
Have you ever driven by and wondered what happens inside or what it’s like to be Jewish at Allderdice?

Join us to discuss Allderdice—past, present, and future.

We’ll begin with evening minyan at 7:00 pm and continue with a facilitated discussion from 7:30–8:30 pm for all who are curious to share and learn from one another’s stories.

This Theme Night is co-hosted by David Horvitz (class of 1974, parent 2005, 2007, 2011), Shira Steindel Friedman (1997, parent 2026, 2029), Andie Askins (1995, parent 2028), Jon Arnold (1994, parent 2028, 2029), and Jonathan Weinkle (1990, parent 2020, 2024).

Kosher treats will be served. All are welcome!

What is Theme Minyan?

Theme Minyan is a new pilot initiative featuring casual, member-led conversation following evening minyan, built around a shared interest or experience. It encourages minyan attendance and strengthens community. Topic ideas are welcome and may be sent to Bob Russman-Halperin at bob.halperin@gmail.com.
