It was an honor to share some thoughts with you after Rabbi Adelson and Zev Adelson chanted Kol Nidre so beautifully. Whether you worshiped with us in person or on Zoom, your presence was a reminder of what makes this congregation so meaningful: we are a community that is here for one another.
During my High Holiday remarks, I shared how I started to come regularly to Beth Shalom to say Kaddish for my father. What began as an obligation became a connection, then a community, and ultimately an important part of my life.
I know that each of us has our own story of how we came to Beth Shalom. Perhaps you grew up here. Maybe you moved to Pittsburgh and were looking for a spiritual home.
Whatever brought you here, Beth Shalom is here because of you.
And keeping this community strong requires all of us.
