Shabbat Shi'ur with Norm Eisen

Saturday, April 13, 2019

1:00 P.M. | Helfant Chapel

Join Norm Eisen, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution who served in the White House as Special Assistant and Special Counsel to President Obama and as U.S. Ambassador to the Czech Republic. When Norm Eisen moved into the U.S. ambassador’s residence in Prague, returning to the land his mother had fled after the Holocaust, he was startled to discover swastikas hidden beneath the furniture in his new home.

In The Last Palace, Eisen chronicles the upheavals that transformed Europe in the last hundred years through the stories of five people who have called the residence home. This talk will focus on the Zionists who dwelled in the home, and how history establishes the need for the State of Israel.

 This event is free!
