03/18/2020: COVID-19 Update

All Shabbat services this weekend will be live, via Zoom. We are giving no direction as to whether or not you should turn on your computer to view the service; this is an individual decision. Please note that you are not being given the option to come to the synagogue to join the rabbi. In-person attendees are not invited into the building. For those of you that do choose to use the Zoom call to participate in the service, you will enter the Zoom room automatically muted. Please do not turn off muting. (There will be nobody at the controls turning muting on or off or responding to chat comments.)

On Shabbat morning this week, Lillian Feinman will be called to the Torah as a Bat Mitzvah. There will be immediate family and minimal physical congregation in the Sanctuary (but enough to make a minyan and read Torah).

You are welcome to use whatever siddur and humash you’d like, however page number calling for all davening during Shabbat will be from the Siddur Sim Shalom for Shabbat, Festivals, and Weekdays, just as we are currently doing for daily minyanim, and Shabbat morning Torah reading will be from the Hertz humash. We are doing this because we have plenty of each of these books to allow anyone who would like one to take one (or as many as they’d like) home with them. They can be picked up in the lobby of the synagogue 9:00-5:00 (3:00 Friday) during the week. We are also exploring a plan to provide delivery service for them, for those that desire; more on that to come.

For all services this weekend, Friday evening service, 6:00 pm; Shabbat morning service, 9:15 am, and Shabbat afternoon  Minchah, Ma’ariv, and Havdalah, 7:25 pm (new time), use Zoom https://zoom.us/j/896828166.
